Title:  Senior Supervisor, Operations Management

Job Description:

The Senior Supervisor will plan, organize, and direct production activities for the Acoustics Manufacturing Factory on multiple programs. This position is responsible for ensuring the department work is accomplished by the AIOS/worksheets developed by engineering and within the project budgets and schedule. Responsibilities include EHS, department operating supplies, personnel performance, mentoring, process control, process improvement, lean manufacturing, GEMBA.  Duties include planning and managing multiple orders being processed through the department, department capacity planning, project initiation, scheduling, staffing, and reporting. Review department performance for adherence to specifications and schedules. Communicate with staff, department managers, program management, peers, engineers, and vendors. Participate in and ensure the team utilizes process controls and process improvement tools to drive continuous improvement in the departments. Enforce use of PPE and take actions to promote department safety.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Responsibilities include EHS, department operating supplies, personnel performance, mentoring, process control, process improvement, lean manufacturing, GEMBA. 
  • Duties include planning and managing multiple orders being processed through the department, department capacity planning, project initiation, scheduling, staffing, and reporting.
  • Participating in MRB and RCCA events as required, ensure corrective actions are implemented and sustained.
  • Participate in and ensure the team utilizes process controls and process improvement tools to drive continuous improvement in the departments.
  • Collaborate productively with all subject matter experts within a team environment to meet production objectives. Subject matter experts may include, but are not limited to, project managers, production managers and supervisors, engineers, contract managers and administrative personnel.
  • Manage each defined project responsibly and on schedule including planning time for necessary reviews of documentation and tooling needs.
  • Foster a positive working environment and build solid work relationships with teammates.
  • Provide daily oversight of the production staff and processes, tracking and reporting of metrics.
  • Interface with vendors and customers when needed.
  • Provide budget estimating and review in response to customer quote requests.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 4 years prior experience. In lieu of a degree, there is a minimum of 8 years of prior related experience in manufacturing environment working with both automated and manual assembly processes.
  • At least 3 years of experience with managing multiple shift schedules and staff to meet OTD with capacity constraints. 
  • 1 year of experience with project estimating and budget control methods.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • BS/BA Degree in Engineering or related technical field.
  • Experience working with SAP as the primary ERP system.
  • Processing experience (preferably with piezo ceramic) with mechanical and electrical assembly, semi-automated manufacturing machinery.
  • Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and engineering information to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to process products.
  • Practical GD&T knowledge.
  • Ability to interact in a dynamic team environment.
  • Advanced skills with all MS Office applications.
  • Requires excellent oral and written communication skills.
