As a Subcontract Senior Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in our Supply Chain Organization by conducting supplier proposal analysis and supporting a cross-functional team that develops winning and cost-effective customer proposals. This position requires expertise in cost accounting, supplier engagement, and estimating. You will serve as a critical liaison between internal teams, our customers, and our suppliers.
Essential Functions:
- Obtain and analyze supplier cost proposals and pricing data.
- Provide financial analysis and pricing support for new business proposals, contract modifications, and program funding actions.
- Review, assess, and audit supplier quotes and cost data for reasonableness, accuracy, and FAR/DFARS compliance.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and fact-finding reports related to hardware, services, and engineering content for program bids.
- Collaborate with engineering, program management, operations, estimating, and supply chain teams to establish integrated cost strategy and supplier engagement plans.
- Support project closeout activities, including final supplier invoice audits and record retention.
- Perform cost realism assessments and participate in make/buy evaluations for supplier-provided hardware and services.
- Less than 5% domestic travel may be required.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of related experience in proposal analysis, finance, or supply chain in supporting U.S. government programs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Background in cost estimating within the aerospace and defense sector.
- Experience auditing or reviewing supplier cost and pricing data submissions in accordance with FAR 15.403 and government contract pricing requirements.
- Familiarity with automated procurement and financial systems typical to federal contractors (e.g., Costpoint, SAP).
- Strong working knowledge of cost accounting standards and government cost accounting practices.
- Exposure to program management finance, integrated product teams, or cross-functional business acquisition processes.
- Understanding of contract closeout procedures and supplier records management.
- Prior experience supporting proposal and pricing activities for complex, multi-year government programs.
