POSITION DESCRIPTION
As a member of the Data Analytics team, you will focus on solving critical company problems, helping internal departments make intelligent choices, and advanced insights into the business. L3Harris is looking for a Data Scientist who has a working background in Machine Learning and Predictive Analytics. This individual should have a mathematically intensive education with a bachelor’s or master’s degrees in data science, Analytics, Machine Learning, Mathematics or another similar technical field.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
· Facilitate the collection and definition of requirements for new advanced analytics related projects
· Work with business SMEs to identify opportunities to leverage advanced Analytics, leveraging Computational Statistics, Machine Learning, and other Advanced Analytic processes
· Conduct in-depth data analysis and deliver actionable recommendations based on the findings
· Work closely with planning, Ops, and MFG teams to increase Supply, Inventory, Operational, and Production based forecasts.
· Automate other manual forecasting processes.
· Plan, execute, maintain and successfully deliver on assigned projects
QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in Machine Learning, Analytics, Data Science, Technical Computer Science, or another mathematically intensive field OR a Master’s degree and a minimum of 4 years of experience in Analytics, Machine Learning, Data Science, or another related field.
· 2+ Years working as a Data Scientist utilizing advanced analytics tools and solutions
· Experience in R or Python (Python preferred)
· Experience in statistical packages for R or Python (e.g., Pandas, Seaborn)
· Experience in Machine Learning frameworks (e.g., scikit-learn, Keras/Tensorflow, PyTorch)
· Experience with time series forecasting models (e.g., AutoRegressive Integrated Moving Average, Temporal Convolutional Networks, Long Short-Term Memory Recurrent Neural Networks)
· Experience using statistical analysis tools such as JMP, Minitab, R, SAS, Python, etc
· Experience with standard model development workflows (e.g, MLFlow)
PREFERRED ADDITIONAL SKILLS
· Coding experience with C#, Visual Basic .NET, JavaScript, XML, HTML, CSS and DevExpress is a plus, but not required
· Knowledge of ANSI SQL and how to manipulate and retrieve data
· Ability to make visualizations and tools to help others comprehend difficult topics
· Experience with Agile software development (i.e., Jira and Confluence)
· Business intelligence data visualization experience using Power BI.
· SAP ERP experience is a plus but not required
