Job Description:

Ensures products and services meet company standards and end-user requirements by analyzing and resolving product conformance issues. Deep knowledge of the SAP Enterprise Resource System (ERS) and able to recommend and support enhancements.

  • Responsibilities include preparation of control plans and instructions, sampling plans, procedures, and quality records.
  • This role involves collaboration in a cross-functional environment to address issues, prevent recurrences, and assist in data generation and analysis.
  • Quality Technician will work closely with IT associates, recommending and assisting with enhanced SAP user testing relevant to the quality organization.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Inspect products and associated documents in accordance with L3Harris Workmanship Standards, engineering requirements, customer specifications, work instructions, inspection plans, IPC and other requirements as needed.
  • Communicate with internal and external customers regarding questions, concerns, and issues with product, schedule, or documentation.
  • Resolve issues related to government databases such as WAWF, PIEE, DFAS, and FTP file transfers from SAP.
  • Address issues with UID printers and UID failures.
  • Provide peer support, mentorship and training to inspectors while interfacing with test, manufacturing, engineering, production inspection, and leadership.
  • Handle and disposition of Nonconforming Material.
  • Apply basic elements of process control, determine necessary data collection, analyze data for actionable business acumen.
  • Perform root cause analysis, failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), and control nonconforming material to support corrective and preventive actions.
  • Create new processes, tools, and methods to support quality objectives and draft and revise procedures, work instructions, and Control Plans.
  • Recommend, assist, and champion Continuous Improvement opportunities and supporting others with CI projects that reduce Touch Time, Defects, and Cycle time.
  • Maintain working knowledge and understanding of AS9100 quality standard.
  • Present and convey training and information to peers, leadership.
  • Creating and completing FAIR and ensuring compliance with FAI requirements using AS9102.
  • Support efforts to meet customer and business goals, including working late and weekends when necessary.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience
  • 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of industry quality disciplines, including MIL-STD 130, IPC-610 and IPC-620 – certification preferred.
  • Technical knowledge of PIEE, WAWF, DFAS, SAP, FTP, and their integration.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to interface across the organization.
  • Experience in a team environment solving complex problems and balancing workloads.
  • Understanding and experience with Project Management, Lean tools, and principles.
  • Proven track record of process improvement and compliance with procedures.
  • Proven comprehensive understanding of industry standard KPIs and ability to recommend and support actionable improvements.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio).
  • Familiarity with handling and dispositioning Nonconforming Material including deviations, MRBs, and customer RFVs.
  • Knowledge of government and commercial DoD contracts, with the ability to understand complex changes and modifications.
  • Comprehensive understanding of L3 metrics, including data mining, sorting and analyzing data for practical business solutions and actionable recommendations.
  • Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills who adapts quickly to changing environments, customer requirements and expectations.
