Job Description

The Data Archtect is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the infrastructure required for efficiently collecting, storing, and processing large volumes of data. This involves designing database structures based on business requirements, maintaining data quality, troubleshooting problems and continually growing a strong knowledge base of relational SQL both on-premises and cloud.

Essential Functions

  • Design and maintain data pipelines that automate the efficient extraction, transformation, and loading of data from various sources into centralized storage systems.
  • Design, optimize and manage relational databases to handle structured and unstructured data.
  • Apply ETL best practices to connect large data sets from various sources
  • Develop data acquisition and archive recovery strategies
  • Manage data migrations/conversions and troubleshooting data processing issues
  • Support testing and deployment activities.
  • Evaluate data gathered from multiple sources and reconcile conflicts
  • Ensure a high level of data quality and integrity.
  • Implement validation rules and cleansing procedures to detect and rectify anomalies, maintaining data reliability for business needs.
  • Leverage Azure and Snowflake to build scalable and cost-effective data solutions.
  • Work closely with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data needs and support the necessary infrastructure.
  • Provide guidance, coaching and training to other employees across the team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience.
  • Self-motivated with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Customer service-oriented; attention to and emphasis on quality.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral) with the ability to clearly explain technical topics to a non-technical audience.
  • Ability to professionally interface and communicate with personnel at all levels of the company, including senior management.
  • Advanced ETL and SQL skills, and data warehousing knowledge.
  • Advance data modeling and schema design skills. 
  • Commitment to continuous learning and growth.
  • Experience and proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite including Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
