Position Overview:

As a Business Development Principal, you will have the exciting opportunity to help solve the most complex problems our Department of War (DoW) and defense OEM customers face. You will embed with our customers and be the linchpin for solving our customers’ hardest problems. You will leverage your intimate knowledge of our customers to develop and communicate a robust pipeline and strategic outlook for growth.

 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Owns business development and capture within the Communications & Spectrum Dominance segment with a focus on the Spectrum Superiority sector.
  • Leveraging L3Harris rich capabilities to deliver integrated, high speed, open-architecture resilient communications and networking solutions to achieve full spectrum dominance, specifically focusing on mission data links, UxS and hybrid SATCOM.
  • Builds a robust, multi-year pipeline. Qualifies and shapes opportunities across land, air, sea and space through direct customer engagement at all echelons.
  • Lead initiatives associated with all new and competitive business growth areas -campaigns, individual pursuits, and the associated strategies.
  • Develop and execute multi-year financial growth objectives targets for the portfolio.
  • Engages effectively across all levels and ranks of our government/industry partners.
  • Coordinates with P&L leaders to align strategic direction and customer needs; works closely with business execution team to ensure clear, coordinated customer messaging.
  • Scales from tactical to strategic, and back, to deliver near term results while also keeping an overall focus on long term solutions and positioning.
  • Builds coalitions of supporters, coaches, and champions to advance captures and drive opportunity closure and speed to market.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset – obsesses over warfighters hardest problems and rallies a team to translate them into impactful solutions leading to business growth.
  • Constantly looking to improve existing processes or establish new systems using significant conceptualizing, reasoning, and interpretation. Develops or champions new concepts or technologies based on analysis of current and emerging customer challenges.
  • Solves hard, complex problems by analyzing broad variables to include market drivers, business impact, and technological feasibility.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience.
  • Ability to obtain a TS/SCI security clearance

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Business Development experience; with deep understanding of market dynamics, customer requirements, and competitive landscapes.
  • Proven track record of effectively utilizing matrix organizations to win business and achieve results, with a demonstrated ability to lead high-performance teams.
  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance, or a recent background investigation is preferred.
  • Current understanding of capture management and proposal processes.
  • Experience with Defense programs ranging from complex acquisition, development, to qualification and production.
  • Highly developed professional communication skills.  A polished, confident presenter with an outgoing personality and comfortable with customers across all levels. 
  • Ability to work well with customers at both technical and executive levels - communicating system concepts to both highly technical and non-technical audiences.
