Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Plumbing / Mechanical Technician to join our team. The Technician is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing and mechanical systems in commercial and industrial buildings. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of commercial plumbing and mechanical systems, as well as the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently, including kitchen equipment air compressors, vacuum pumps, and other general mechanical equipment. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge and hands-on experience, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. 

 

Essential Functions:

  • Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems including pipes, valves, fittings, drainage systems, and fixtures in commercial and industrial settings.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot commercial kitchen equipment such as dishwashers, steamers ,sinks, garbage disposals, and other related appliances.
  • Inspect plumbing and mechanical systems to identify issues and perform necessary repairs or replacements. Diagnose and repair malfunctions in various systems and components.
  • Conduct inspections and ensure all systems are operating efficiently and in compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Test plumbing and mechanical systems for leaks and other problems using pressure gauges, observation, or other methods.
  • Respond to emergency service requests and provide timely and effective solutions.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including materials used and time spent on each job.
  • Collaborate with other facilities team members such as electricians and HVAC technicians to ensure systems are integrated properly.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior technicians and other team members.
  • Stay up to date with the latest technologies and industry best practices.
  • Facilities on call rotation.

 

Qualifications:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant facilities experience, or 2 years postSecondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related facililites experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance and repair, with a focus on large commercial or industrial facilities.
  • Valid Journeyman or Master Plumber license or certification as required by the state or local jurisdiction 

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Physical ability to perform tasks that require lifting, bending, and working in confined spaces.
  • Knowledge of commercial mechanical systems.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, if necessary.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Rocky Mountain Gas Association (RMGA) Certification
  • Experience working with commercial kitchen equipment.
  • Experience with advanced commercial plumbing and mechanical technologies and systems.
  • Able to assist with plumbing, mechanical, electrical and HVAC equipment.

 

Work Environment:

  • This position requires working both indoors and outdoors, sometimes in extreme temperatures.
  • The role may involve standing, walking, and climbing ladders for extended periods.
  • Must be available for on-call duty and respond to emergencies outside of regular working hours.
