Job Description:
Manufacturing Technician will work closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Process Management, and Inspection; supporting new and existing electronic circuit products, in an ESD and FOD sensitive lab environment. This position is responsible for performing and mentoring functions associated with assembly, rework, repair, and modification operations. Primary duties include, automated, semi-automated, and hand install assembly operations. The Manufacturing Technician is responsible to identify and support continuous process improvement for quality, cost, and schedule activities. The employee will receive on-the-job training as needed, but will need to be comfortable working independently. A successful candidate will be able to transition between various aspects of circuit card assembly, in unison with building a variety of different designs, with minimal supervision.
Essential Functions:
- Completes manufacturing in compliance with quality specifications, providing mentoring to lower level technicians and assemblers
- Maintains a variety of manufacturing apparatus, and completes assembly following methods, procedures, standards, and operations sequences
- Implements and provides feedback for operation sequence, and the ability to achieve manufacturing requirements and specifications
- Ability to work from both oral and written instructions, engineering drawings, blueprints, supporting surface mount and thru-hole circuit cards and their applicable components
- Develops methods, tooling, and assembly aids required to achieve special design engineering requirements, conducts root cause analysis of failed electronic component assembly, and recommends corrective actions
- Corrects manufacturing failures by making adjustments, or replacing parts and/or components as directed by process documentation
- Performs continuous improvement projects targeting waste affecting product quality, cost, and schedule or other items of value to the business
- Maintain professional standards of performance, demeanor, and judgment at all times as detailed in company policy and procedure
- Resource to other employees for various operations within the circuit card assembly processes, having multiple areas of manufacturing expertise
- Individual must be able to work under a microscope for long periods of time
- Support OT (nights, weekends, extended hours) as needed to meet schedule requirements and business needs
- Other responsibilities as assigned by Management
Qualifications:
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of 8 years of prior related experience, or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience
- Ability to obtain a security clearance is required
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Knowledgeable with Microsoft suite and personal computing devices
- Proficient in multiple electronics manufacturing processes, including soldering, hand tools, and ESD practices
- Experience in working with hardware assembly, coating, potting, and bonding materials
- Academic knowledge of electronics, mechanical operations, solid state technology, microprocessor and computer technology sufficient to function in fields of electronic technology
- Experience with SAP, SAPME, TeamCenter enterprise resource planning and lifecycle management software
