Job Description:

 

This role entails assembling, modifying, and reworking printed circuit cards in a high-mix, low-volume lab environment to support prototype and small-batch builds. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced development environment, demonstrating flexibility, accuracy, and attention to detail while maintaining an organized workspace and managing materials with care.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Performs circuit card assembly operations on a variety of electronic products, ensuring compliance with required performance specifications and applicable workmanship standards
  • Performs hand soldering of through-hole and surface-mount components, operates surface mount machines, and executes conformal coating, rework, and touch-up using standard assembly tools and equipment
  • Works from oral and written instructions, engineering drawings, and blueprints to support surface mount and through-hole circuit card assemblies
  • Documents assembly data, build results, and nonconforming or failed product records
  • Collaborates with engineering to identify and resolve design or manufacturability concerns
  • Performs detailed inspection and assembly work under magnification for extended periods
  • Maintains an organized lab workspace and manages materials and components with care
  • Supports overtime as needed to meet schedule requirements and business needs
  • Completes required COMSEC training
  • Obtains and maintains IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, and Space Addendum certifications
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance as required

 

Required Qualifications (one of the following):

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience
  • 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and general personal computing
  • Proficient in multiple electronics manufacturing processes, including soldering, hand tool use, and ESD handling practices
  • Experience with surface mount technology and associated equipment
