Job Description:

Manufacturing Technician will work closely with Area Management. Manufacturing Engineering, and Inspection.  This position supports new and existing electronic circuit products, in an ESD and FOD sensitive lab environment.  Primary duties include automated, semi-automated, and hand install assembly operations.  A successful candidate will be able to transition between various aspects of circuit card assembly, in unison with building a variety of different designs, with minimal supervision.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Perform manufacturing activities in compliance with quality standards, specifications, and workmanship requirements.
  • Implement manufacturing operation sequences and provide feedback on the ability to meet manufacturing requirements and specifications.
  • Support root cause analysis and troubleshooting of failed electronic components and assemblies.
  • Implement assembly methods, tooling, and manufacturing aids required to meet special design engineering requirements.
  • Correct manufacturing issues by making adjustments or replacing parts and components as directed.
  • Accurately document work is performed and communicate effectively to ensure activities are properly recorded in accordance with customer and quality expectations.
  • Maintain professional standards of performance, conduct, and judgment at all times in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Support overtime, including nights, weekends, and extended hours, as needed to meet production schedules and business demands.
  • Obtain and maintain IPC-A-610 certification, “Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies.”
  • Serve as a resource to other employees in areas of expertise.
  • May be required to lift moderate weights.

Qualifications:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/associate’s degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.
  • Basic knowledge and hands-on experience in circuit card assembly.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Experience with prototype builds and first-time build processes.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing process improvements through the use of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, Theory of Constraints, or similar continuous improvement tools.
  • Ability to interpret schematics, logic drawings, layouts, wire lists, and engineering prints.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to follow detailed work instructions, drawings, and manufacturing documentation.
