Job Description:
L3Harris, Spectrum Superiority (SPS) is looking for an experienced Manager for our Signal Processing and Common HDL department within the Digital Design and Signal Processing group. The person in this position will manage a team of 10-15 engineers of multiple experience levels from entry level to mid-level. Because of the diverse skills in the group, it is imperative that the Manager has thorough technical knowledge to make good staffing decisions and provide meaningful reviews and guidance. This engineering group develops HDL to support a wide range of applications used in wireless communications algorithms including modulation, demodulation, forward error correction techniques. This group also provides digital design support for new business development, systems engineering, and product line engineering.
Essential Functions:
- Coordination and management of all efforts assigned to the group, ensuring best schedule and cost performance
- Technical review of all work done within the group, ensuring technical synergy, competence, efficiency, and completeness
- Responsible for workforce planning and staffing for the team to meet team deliverables.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of software engineers.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback, facilitating career growth and development opportunities for team members.
- Bid and proposal support, staffing and review
- Point of Contact for other engineering disciplines, programs, operations
- Engineering processes and guideline development and approval, ensuring process and procedures are followed correctly.
- Ability to communicate effectively both up and down through an organization.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoW security clearance.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science or related discipline, with a minimum of 12 years of prior related experience. Graduate degree with a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in Engineering and/or Business Administration
- Prior or current management / team lead / project lead experience as well as 5+ years of Electronic Warfare, Wireless Comms or DSP related digital design experience.
- Experience in DoD accepted engineering development practices, processes, and documentation
- Experience with bidding, planning, and executing related engineering development efforts
- Experience with EVMS, cost proposal management systems, JIRA, and MS Project
- Experience with VHDL, C, C++, and Matlab
- Experience leading engineering project teams
- Demonstrated responsibility/accountability for budgets exceeding $1M
