Job Description:

The Manufacturing Manager will lead the manufacturing team within Operations, providing both technical and administrative leadership. This Manufacturing role supports the Antenna, Radio Frequency Equipment, Small Modem, and Commercial Products manufacturing teams. The individual will drive excellence by optimizing workflows, ensuring product quality, and enhancing throughput on the production floor.

 

This leader will collaborate with management and subject matter experts to identify and develop job skills matrices to determine employee training needs, ensuring alignment with customer and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in operations management, with a proven track record of driving measurable improvements, implementing advanced manufacturing systems, and effectively communicating key goals and strategies to executive leadership.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Lead and direct the manufacturing team by providing clear direction, scheduling work, conducting briefings, developing personnel, evaluating performance, and planning for succession.
  • Partner with other departments to create and implement improved manufacturing plans, driving measurable improvements aligned with the company's Annual Operating Plan (AOP).
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring processes are "Right the First Time", prioritizing safety, maintaining audit readiness, and complying with policies and security requirements.
  • Engage hands-on with the production floor to optimize workflows, ensure consistent product quality, and maintain efficient throughput, while also managing logistics and factory floor layout.
  • Strong ability to interact with and present key goals and strategies to executive leadership, effectively communicating plans and performance metrics.
  • Apply knowledge of manufacturing systems and techniques such as lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and automated production systems to improve processes and minimize downtime and costs.
  • Must be comfortable working in a dynamic, high-pressure environment with minimal oversight.

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years prior related experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
