Job Description:
The Dispatch Lead is responsible for overseeing the movement of job orders throughout the factory including COMSEC materials to support the build cycle. This role requires collaboration with various departments, supporting component requests from the floor to the stores team, ensuring that all orders are accurately tracked using SAP and other systems. The Dispatch Lead will support and guide the dispatch team, oversee the accuracy of the dispatch system, and ensure WIP accuracy. Additionally, the role involves running reports, reconciling differences, creating weekly/monthly routes for the dispatch team, conducting audits, and acting as a key point of contact for management.
Essential Functions:
- Lead and support the dispatch team in their daily tasks.
- Ensure the dispatch system accurately reflects reality and make necessary adjustments.
- Monitor and maintain WIP accuracy, ensuring that discrepancies are identified and resolved.
- Run regular reports and reconcile any differences found within the dispatch and inventory systems.
- Develop and maintain weekly and monthly routing schedules for the dispatch team.
- Conduct audits as needed to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for management regarding dispatch operations.
- Handle and manage the movement of COMSEC material in accordance with regulations and procedures.
- Support component requests from the production floor to the stores team, ensuring timely and accurate fulfillment.
- Collaborate with various departments to improve efficiency and resolve any issues related to job order movements.
- Train and mentor dispatch team members, providing guidance and support to enhance their performance and development.
Qualifications:
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Proven experience in inventory management, or related role.
- Proficiency with SAP or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
- Ability to handle sensitive materials (e.g., COMSEC) with a high level of discretion and compliance with regulations.
- Ability to run reports, analyze data, and present findings to management.
- Experience in creating and managing routing schedules and conducting audits.
