Job Code: 45339
Job Location: Salt Lake City, Utah
Job Schedule: 9/80: Employees work 9 out of every 14 days- totaling 80 hours worked- and have every other Friday off
Job Description:
The Government Compliance D is responsible for maintaining government property accountability across programs with diverse operational needs, customer expectations, and compliance requirements. This role requires prior experience, critical thinking, and sound judgment to support complex program demands effectively. Key responsibilities include receiving government-owned property, creating repair jobs for failed units, and preparing and managing shipments of mission-critical equipment used by soldiers overseas. Because this equipment directly supports operational readiness, the position requires a strong sense of urgency, accuracy, and accountability. The role also calls for someone who can work with minimal oversight and limited training, quickly become productive, integrate into existing processes, and independently manage daily responsibilities.
This position also involves frequent coordination with cross-functional teams in logistics, repair, shipping, compliance, operations, and program support. Strong communication skills are essential for working both within and outside the department to resolve discrepancies, clarify requirements, and ensure property is properly tracked throughout its lifecycle. In addition, the Property Specialist D must be able to come up to speed quickly, work with limited supervision, serve as a resource to others, and recommend solutions when issues arise. The role has a direct impact on compliance with FAR requirements, internal procedures, and the overall effectiveness of the Government Property Management System. Beyond executing established processes, the individual must identify gaps, resolve exceptions, maintain audit-ready records, and help mitigate risk before problems escalate. Since government property management often involves non-routine exceptions such as missing documentation, inaccurate records, failed assets, shipping discrepancies, and customer-specific handling requirements, success in this role depends on experience, initiative, and the ability to exercise sound judgment in complex situations.
