Schedule: 9/80 (employee's work 9 out of every 14 days - totaling 80 hours worked - and have every other Friday off)

 

Position Overview:

The Associate, Security Operations supports the effective execution of physical and personnel security measures within a dynamic corporate environment. This position works closely with the Security Operations Manager and Senior Security Specialist to ensure all security-related activities, facility requirements, and personnel actions comply with federal, customer, and company regulations, including U.S. government classified program requirements. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, comprehensive knowledge of security technologies and standards, and the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams while upholding the highest standards of professionalism and confidentiality.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Support the development, implementation, and enforcement of physical and operational security standards, ensuring all facility construction and modifications adhere to federal and company security requirements.
  • Monitor personnel activities within designated classified and restricted areas to validate compliance with internal and external security protocols.
  • Conduct routine inspections and functional testing of security devices, intrusion detection systems, and other protective technologies, documenting and resolving discrepancies as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive security documentation and records for regulatory audits and inspections.
  • Provide escort services for individuals and groups within sensitive or classified areas.
  • Assist with compliance-related functions, including security audits, badge issuance, access control monitoring, and incident response.
  • Collaborate with facilities management, contractors, and corporate partners to integrate security requirements during construction and renovation projects.
  • Respond promptly to security incidents or alarms and assist with investigations and corrective actions as directed.
  • Conduct independent research into federal, industry, and company security standards; interpret the requirements of those standards, and apply them successfully to site-specific operations and construction.
  • Remain current on emerging security technologies, industry best practices, and applicable regulations; participate in continuous process improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support the overall security mission.

 

Required Qualifications (one of the following along with minimum Secret Clearance):

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
  • Must have at minimum a Secret Clearance.

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Demonstrated familiarity with intrusion detection systems, access control technologies, physical construction methods, and UL 2050 requirements as they pertain to security compliance.
  • Strong command of the English language, with proficiency in Spanish considered highly desirable.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, reliability, and professional conduct.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently research, interpret, and apply complex security policies, standards, and regulations.
  • Ability to consistently exercise sound judgment, diplomacy, and discretion.
  • Willingness and ability to work standard business hours (5/40 schedule), with occasional evening availability to meet urgent or emergent needs.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to frequently traverse a large corporate campus, including standing for extended periods (up to one hour).
  • Capacity to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and bend as necessary to perform inspections and equipment maintenance.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with the physical security requirements outlined in IC Tech Spec- for ICD/ICS 705, 32 CFR Part 117 (NISPOM), and UL 2050 (Restricted Standard for National Industrial Security Systems).
  • Previous involvement in security planning or oversight for construction projects and facility upgrades within classified environments.
  • Working knowledge of industry standards and best practices for the protection of classified information and facilities.
  • Strong technical aptitude, adaptability, and commitment to professional development.

 

Travel:

  • This position is primarily campus-based in Salt Lake City, with little to no travel required.
