Job Description:
The IPC Technical Trainer will be responsible for developing and delivering comprehensive training programs on IPC standards and practices. This role involves training employees in hand soldering, cable building, and other related skills to ensure high-quality workmanship and compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electronics manufacturing, excellent communication skills, and a passion for teaching and mentoring.
Essential Functions:
- Conduct Training Sessions:
- Develop and deliver training programs on IPC standards (e.g., IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620, IPC-J-STD-001) for new and existing employees.
- Create and update training materials to reflect the latest industry standards and best practices.
- Evaluate Trainees:
- Assess trainees' skills and knowledge through practical and theoretical evaluations.
- Provide constructive feedback and additional training as needed to ensure competency.
- Maintain Training Records:
- Document all training sessions, attendance, and certification statuses.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and IPC standards.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Stay updated with the latest IPC standards and industry best practices.
- Implement improvements to the training program based on feedback and technological advancements.
- Hand Soldering and Cable Building:
- Train employees in precise hand soldering techniques and cable assembly processes.
- Ensure solder joints and cable assemblies meet IPC standards and company quality requirements.
- Quality Control and Safety:
- Emphasize the importance of quality control and adherence to safety protocols in all training sessions.
- Promote the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe working practices.
- Overtime may be required
- Travel, up to 5%
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related technical training experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 4 years of prior related technical training experience.
- IPC certification (CIT/CIS) in relevant standards (e.g., IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620, IPC-J-STD-001) required.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- 3-5 years+ of experience in electronics manufacturing, with a focus on hand soldering, cable building, and IPC standards.
- Technical certification or associate degree in electronics or a related field preferred.
- Strong technical knowledge of IPC standards and electronics manufacturing processes
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
- Ability to assess and evaluate trainees' skills and provide constructive feedback
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in using training aids and materials, including multimedia tools
- Proficient in MS Office and related suite of software programs
