Job Description:

The Project Geologist/Engineer, Environmental Remediation will manage/oversee routine programs such as sampling and analysis programs and manage/oversee construction activities, such as monitoring well and extraction well installation and remedial action implementation including soil vapor extraction systems, excavation projects, pipeline installation, and groundwater extraction and treatment system upgrades/repairs.  The Project Geologist/Engineer, Environmental Remediation will also prepare routine reports, such as quarterly monitoring reports, quarterly progress reports, annual remedial system performance evaluations, and updates to the Standard Operating Procedures, Quality Assurance Program Plan and Groundwater Monitoring Plan.  In addition, the Project Geologist/Engineer, Environmental Remediation will assist Senior Geologist/Engineer, Environmental Remediation in the preparation of more complex documents, such as Remedial Investigation Reports, Feasibility Studies, Remedial Action Plans, Work Plans, etc.

Essential Functions:

  • Ability to lift 50-lb
  • 40-hr HAZWOPER certified with annual refreshers
  • Knowledge of the use of personal protective equipment, such as safety glasses, safety shoes, hard hat, Tyvek, etc.
  • Proficiency with MS Office software suite, including MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point
  • Valid California drivers license
  • US Citizen or Permanent US Resident
  • Ability to work outside standard 7am-5pm work schedules
  • Ability to walk or hike across uneven terrain
  • Roughly 50% field work/50% office work

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • A Bachelors degree in an appropriate discipline (e.g. Geology, Hydrogeology, Engineering, Chemistry, Earth Science, etc.) and three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in a directly related field.  Experience must include collecting soil, groundwater, and surface water samples under CERCLA QAPP protocols, familiarity with and assistance with preparation of routine reports, such as quarterly monitoring reports, sampling and analysis plans, work plans, and completion reports.
  • Ability to obtain Registration as Professional Geologist or Professional Engineers License within 5 years.

 

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California is $69,000 - 128,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
