Job Description:

L3Harris is seeking a highly skilled and professional Avionics/Mission Systems Instructor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for training students in a formal classroom setting, trainer/simulator, or aircraft on the theory, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of aircraft electronics and mission systems. These systems include navigation, communication, radar, flight control, and specialized mission systems such as optical sensors, electronic warfare, and cybersecurity systems. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Conduct training sessions in classroom, simulator, and aircraft environments.
  • Teach students the theory, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of various avionics and mission systems.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams, relevant team members, and customer representatives to define curriculum and courseware priorities.
  • Develop and deliver training materials based on engineering documentation, field service requirements, and vendor specifications.
  • Ensure training programs meet high standards of aviator skills, safety, and professionalism.
  • Maintain flexibility in work schedule, including the possibility of extended hours.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or,In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience and 10 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years relevant experience
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a SC clearance.
  • 25% travel required
  • FAA Airframe Certification, an FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certification

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in avionics and mission systems, preferably in a military or aerospace environment.
  • Strong instructional skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Familiarity with instructional design principles and adult learning theories.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and travel as needed.
