Job Description:

The Senior Specialist, Avionics Instructor is responsible for developing, delivering, and evaluating comprehensive training programs for maintenance technicians, flight crews, and support personnel for green and modified airframes. This role requires subject matter expertise in the avionics systems of the Gulfstream G550, Bombardier Global 6500 and other aircraft platforms. The candidate will combine strong technical knowledge with exceptional instructional skills to ensure training programs meet regulatory requirements, manufacturer standards, and organizational objectives. Possible travel to austere locations to support aircraft maintenance operations and other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions:

• Conduct training sessions in classroom, simulator, and aircraft environments.
• Teach students the theory, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of various avionics and mission systems.
• Collaborate with engineering teams, relevant team members, and customer representatives to define curriculum and courseware priorities.
• Develop and deliver training materials based on engineering documentation, field service requirements, and vendor specifications.
• Coordinate with Quality Assurance to ensure training content reflects current approved data.
• Willingness and ability to maintain flexibility in work schedule, including the possibility of extended hours.
• 10% travel required.
• Ability to obtain a US TS/SCI security clearance.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
• Minimum 1 year experience in avionics and mission systems, preferably in a military or aerospace environment.

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Active US Secret security clearance.
• FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certification.
• FAA Inspection Authorization (IA).
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Familiarity with instructional design principles and adult learning theories.
• Experience supporting Part 145 Repair Station training programs.
• Experience with EASA Part-66/Part-147 training requirements.
