Job Description:

 

The Manager, Master Data leads the team responsible for the accuracy, consistency, governance, and strategic use of ERP master data and related transactional data across the organization. This role supports operational and planning performance by driving data quality, process standardization, and cross-functional alignment across multiple sites.

The Manager partners closely with Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Procurement, Program Management, Contracts, Finance, and IT to ensure effective master data governance, planning parameter alignment, PMMO/material grouping support, and sales order data accuracy. This role also leads the development and implementation of standard processes, reporting, controls, and documentation to improve ERP data integrity and business execution.

 

Essential Functions:

 

Leadership & Functional Oversight

  • Provides leadership and direction to the Master Data team, establishing priorities that align with business and functional objectives.
  • Develops, coaches, and evaluates team members to support performance, engagement, and continuous improvement.
  • Establishes and maintains standard processes, controls, reporting, and documentation to support effective execution and compliance.
  • Provides functional guidance and governance to site and cross-functional teams responsible for maintaining domain data, including BOMs, routings, customer data, and vendor data.

 

Master Data Governance & Data Quality

  • Oversees the governance, maintenance, accuracy, and integrity of ERP master data and related planning data.
  • Leads data quality reviews, audits, and exception management activities to identify and resolve inaccuracies and inconsistencies.
  • Partners with Planning, Operations, Engineering, Procurement, IT, and other stakeholders to resolve data-related issues and improve process performance.
  • Collaborates with business and IT teams to develop and maintain dashboards, metrics, and reports used to monitor data quality and process effectiveness.

 

Planning Systems & Process Integration

  • Supports integration of master data and planning parameters with ERP/MRP, Demand Planning, Material/Production Planning, and SIOP processes.
  • Leads or supports initiatives that improve ERP data governance, planning integration, and process standardization across the organization.

 

PMMO / Material Grouping Governance

  • Provides leadership to team members supporting PMMO-related material grouping across programs and sites.
  • Oversees the development and maintenance of standard work, reporting, and governance processes related to PMMO and material grouping activities, with an emphasis on reducing group exceptions across the division.

 

Sales Order Data Management

  • Provides oversight to team members responsible for sales order entry governance and sales order data accuracy within ERP systems.
  • Establishes and maintains controls and audit practices for sales order creation, maintenance, and validation to support accurate downstream planning and execution.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Business, or other related technical discipline; an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience or additional years of directly related experience may also be considered.
  • 8+ years of experience in Operations, Materials Management, Inventory Management, ERP/MRP, Master Data, or related functions.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to communicate, influence, and lead across multiple levels, teams, and business units.  
  • Change agent and leader who can help transform the organization and maintain a high level of engagement.  
  • Leads process improvement initiatives with little to no direction and supervision. 

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

 

  • Experience in master data management with a solid understanding of how key master data fields impact MRP highly desired.
  • Experience in Material and Production Planning.
  • Knowledge of defense program data desired.
  • Six Sigma, Lean, or APICS certification desired. 

 

 

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C, Denver, or NYC areas is US$129,500.00 MIN - US$229,500.00 MAX. The salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, Ohio, and Vermont is US$115,500.00 MIN - US$205,500.00 MAX.  This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
