Job Description:
Perform as part of a team that supports the requirements, design, development, test, and integration of complex, specialized hardware/software systems installed on ground and airborne ISR and communication platforms. The ideal candidate will serve as a subject matter expert in Solipsys command-and-control (C2) mission software, providing hands-on architecture development requirements, system design, configuration, integration, and testing expertise for airborne system applications. Travel requirement will vary with the phase of the program, ranging from <10% during SW development phases to an excess of 50% during integration, testing, and delivery.
Essential Functions:
- Serve as the primary C2 product owner, leveraging in-depth working knowledge of Solypsis software architecture, features, and the full range of available configuration options.
- Integrate and configure Solypsis mission software for use with airborne C2 weapon systems (NATO desired), ensuring compatibility and operational effectiveness with external weapon system platforms.
- Develop, manage, and maintain exportable Solypsis configurations for use across multiple programs within business area.
- Translate operational concepts (CONOPS) into C2 software requirements and configurations that meet mission requirements.
- Translate customer requests into system, subsystem, and product level requirements and ensure proper requirement traceability throughout the program lifecycle.
- Write subsystem specifications based on system-level requirements and evaluate alternative solutions to establish preliminary system designs.
- Prepare effective presentations to communicate Solypsis C2 capabilities as integrated into the weapon system to non-technical professionals, operators and government customers.
- Develop, author, and implement software and system test plans in a collaborative team environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering technology and minimum of 9 years of relevant experience (Software Engineer also considered with relevant experience).
- Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience.
- In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
- Strong understanding of core Systems Engineering requirements development, decomposition, traceability, verification, and validation, with the ability to translate customer and stakeholder needs into clear, testable, and compliant system requirements.
- Demonstrated, hands-on experience integrating and configuring Solypsis mission software for airborne and/or ground-based system applications.
- Working knowledge of Solypsis C2 software architecture and how to configure Solypsis C2 software to support a NATO C2 weapon system.
- Demonstrated experience working with OpenShift deployments and cluster environments.
- Prior experience obtaining ATO of a software solution supporting a weapon system.
- In-depth knowledge of requirement development process to integrate Solypsis C2 software with both OTS and custom developed software products.
- In-depth knowledge of Solypsis SDK, API interfaces, data flows, and system architecture.
- Security+ Certified.
- DoD Secret Clearance with eligibility for TS/SCI; requires U.S. Citizenship.
Strongly Preferred:
- Experience creating and managing exportable Solypsis configurations for deployment across multiple platforms or customer environments.
- Familiarity with Solypsis software updates, version management, and configuration baseline control.
- Experience identifying and troubleshooting software and/or network anomalies.
- Aircraft optical sensor system integration and ground/flight test support experience.
- Experience with obtaining and maintaining a government network ATO (Authorization to Operate).
- Experience working with subcontractors and U.S. Government customers.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
- Hands-on experience testing, integrating, and verifying hardware and/or software systems.
- Ability to support flight test/ability to obtain active flight physical.
