Job Description:

 

The Lead Systems Architect will provide a key role in the expansion of L3Harris's systems solutions within Western Europe and NATO's communication modernization programs. This role is customer-facing and pivotal in leading technical discussions, formulating systems architectures, and crafting bespoke C4ISR solutions that incorporate TCOM products into diverse platforms. The position requires regional travel and active participation in the establishment of a European presence.

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Lead technical discussions with customer development teams, leveraging L3Harris Radio and modern MANET Waveforms.
  • Coordinate with Sales, Program and Project Management to translate customer requirements, including informal ones, into balanced technical, schedule, and cost solutions. Participate alongside the Sales and Business Development teams in growing regional business, opportunities and strategic goals.
  • Develop comprehensive system architectures to meet customer-specific requirements for Comms modernization and C4ISR systems, ensuring deployment over various radio frequencies for voice and data applications. These systems will support current opportunities, future capture and program pursuits, and demonstration events.
  • Establish reusable and scalable Systems Architectures and System Concepts of Use tailored to customer-specific requirements and use cases to support Brigade level communication system modernization. Ability to incorporate dynamic and evolving customer needs throughout development of the system architecture.
  • Provide guidance during design and integration activities of L3Harris products with third-party systems, including intercom systems, electronics, software applications, and power systems, from international suppliers and regional partners.
  • Assist with the physical integration designs and plans or Radio products into platforms such as land vehicles, shelters, fixed sites, ships, aircraft, and UAVs on-site at customer military facilities and/or contractor and partner facilities.
  • Prepare white papers and presentations, and present custom systems solutions directly to customers.
  • Represent L3Harris Communication Systems at NATO and Customer-lead conferences and technical meetings, and share relevant topics of interest to internal L3H teams on the latest Communications and Multi-Domain Operations (MDO) trends.
  • Partner with Product PLM and Engineering to influence technical product changes and roadmaps based on significant customer requirements.
  • Develop relationships with technical teams from European CDR network and regional strategic partners to increase technical capacity, systems integration and interoperability.
  • Familiarity with Foreign Military Sales (FMS) and Direct Contract Sales (DCS) programs gained from experience working in the international defense market, an understanding of ITAR/EAR trade compliance requirements, and a willingness to embrace working across cultural boundaries throughout the European region.
  • Willingness to travel 25-40% of the time to international locations to support customer meetings, demos, conferences and equipment integration.
  • Ability to obtain a US Secret Security Clearance.

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 9 years of prior related Systems Level Design and Integration experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.

  • IP Network
  • RF Propagation, RF Co-Site, RF Colocation
  • Proficiency in model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tools and methodologies.
  • Experience with requirements management and system modeling tools.
  • Knowledge of Multi-Level Security (MLS), cross-domain networks, and Federated Mission Networking (FMN) Framework Process for net-centric operations.
  • Strong technical proposal experience to include knowledge and expertise in the following areas:  detailed scheduling, work breakdown structure development, basis of estimates development and technical writing. 
  • Experience of demonstrated in Systems Design and Systems Integration with relevant technologies.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, and Vermont is $108,500- $201,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
