Job Description:
This Integrated Product Team (IPT) lead position provides subassembly and system integration and test engineering execution across a broad range of optical, electrical and mechanical assemblies to meet critical program deliverables. As a team leader this role manages and contributes to engineering tasks, from proposals to system architecture to hardware development, integration, test and delivery. The candidate will be part of a larger program team as a leader dedicated to meeting the customer’s technical, cost and schedule needs. Program support and technical leadership over requirements definition, concept generation, material selection, trade studies, design sensitivity/optimization studies, preliminary and final design, design documentation, manufacturing, and assembly/integration and testing. Reviews status of engineering projects and budgets, manage schedules, and prepares status reports. Identifies, tracks, mitigates, manages, and dispositions program-level risks and opportunities. Estimate resource and material needs for the project/product. Provides the coordination between resource managers/supervisors and ensures all necessary reviews and approvals are received. Must have ability and willingness to work in a collaborative team environment on quick reaction projects and will have regular contact with customers. Candidate must have proficiency in 3D modeling, design for manufacturing (DfMA), mechanical analysis and ability to work independently or within a multi-disciplined team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related disciplines from an ABET Accredited program and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
- 4+ years experience with mechanical detailed design and new product development, manufacturing processes, and MCAD modeling tools
- Experience managing technical, cost, and schedule performance in a professional setting
- Professional experience leading a technical team
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Active Top Secret/SCI is highly preferred
- Project Management certificate is preferred
- Experience with optical payload, space vehicle integration and testing is preferred
- Experience integrating and testing complex optical/mechanical/electrical systems
- Experience in at least one of the following areas: integration of hardware & software systems, electrical system end-end test, space vehicle level integration & test
- Ability to work closely with Customers, Business Development, and all functional disciplines
- Has proven track record with long term planning and attention to detail
- Knowledge of Government contracting practices and Earned Value Management (EVMS)
- Ability to develop broad, cooperative relationships with numerous groups and individuals, even when having no direct authority over them
- Fast learner able to adjust to project needs and learn new skills quickly
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, and Vermont is $88,500 - $164,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
