Job Description:
L3Harris Tactical Communications seeking a supplier quality engineer to support our supply chain team. Successful candidates will have a technical background with experience in electro-mechanical assembly and quality. This role requires the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Essential Functions:
- Manage the supply chain to reduce variability, increase reliability and ensure on-time delivery.
- Focus on problem prevention, supplier quality control, continuous improvement, and data reporting.
- Facilitate Part/Process Qualification through FAI and PPAP.
- Manage material Inspection Plans and methods for production material.
- Collaborate with engineering, suppliers, and manufacturing for smooth transitions from concept to production.
- Support the development and commercialization of radio sub-assemblies.
- Willingness to travel on occasion (25% or more).
- Ability to obtain US Government clearance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with Contract Manufacturing, Assembly, and Test
- Experience in Six Sigma, Lean methodologies, Corrective & Preventive Action, and Root Cause Analysis.
- Development of Risk Mitigation plans to support successful release of new radio accessories.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New York state, is $73,000 to $135,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
