Job Description:

 

 

L3Harris Tactical Communications is seeking a Specialist Supplier Quality Engineer to support our cables/connectors sourcing teams.  Successful candidates will have a technical background with experience in electromechanical assembly and quality.  This role requires the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.  Experience with quality systems/tools including APQP, PPAP, and part qualification desired.

 

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Colaborate with suppliers to reduce variability, increase reliability and ensure on-time delivery.  
  • Focus on problem prevention, supplier quality control, continuous improvement, and data reporting. 
  • Facilitate Part/Process Qualification through FAI and PPAP. 
  • Collaborate with engineering, suppliers, and manufacturing for smooth transitions from concept to production. 
  • Willingness to travel (25% or more), primarily domestic.  
  • Position requires a minimum of a BS degree (Engineering or STEM)  

 

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

 

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.  
  • ​Experience with cables and connectors.
  • ​Experience in Six Sigma, Lean methodologies, Corrective & Preventive Action, and Root Cause Analysis.  

 

 

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New York state, is $73,000 to $135,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
