Job Description:

 

 

Tactical Communications (TCOM) Department of Defense (DoD) Program Manager responsible for managing the cost, schedule and technical performance requirements of US DoD Programs through all phases from proposal to period of performance completion. Ensures that all resources such as engineering staffing, subcontractors, production, quality and facilities are available to support internal and external delivery targets.  Manages programs to achieve TCOM quarterly orders, revenue, OI & cash flow targets. Assists Sales team to secure new orders, formulate requirements, and help expedite orders. Works with customers to determine scope, technical and execution requirements and new business opportunities.  Travel to customer locations as needed.

 

 

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Experience running programs in the Defense and Aerospace industry, and managing contracts for the US DoD.
  • Experience managing Direct Commercial Sales (DCS) programs.
  • Experience managing complex integrated systems programs and development.
  • Oversee key performance indicators related to cost, schedule, risk and technical performance across all program life-cycle phases, from development through operations.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive reports regarding project status, financials, and performance to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience managing multiple subcontractors.
  • Experience managing program budgets >$5M.
  • Responsible for the defining scope of work including program deliverables to guide an internal cross-functional team.
  • Participates in the negotiation of contract and contract changes.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in fast paced, dynamic environment.
  • Effectively communicates with all levels of co-workers, senior management, and customer.
  • Ability to travel withing the US up to 20%.
  • General knowledge of FAR/DFAR requirements, and DPAS rated contracts.

 

 

Qualifications:

 

 

  • Bachelor's Degree with 4 years prior experience, 2 year post-secondary/AA Degree and 8 years prior experience or Graduate Degree with 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.

 

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

 

  • Experience managing development programs or programs with significant non-recurring engineering (NRE) effort.
  • Prior experience managing recurring production programs.
  • PMP certification.
  • MS Project experience.
  • Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM).
  • Active Security Clearance Secret or greater.

 

 

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, and Vermont is $79,000 - $146,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
