Job Description:

The role will focus on Digital Electrical Engineering, specializing in digital design and analysis as part of a group of engineers supporting Multi-Channel Radio Products in the Tactical Communications business. In this role, the candidate is responsible for supporting the team as needed, providing engineering analysis, design, troubleshooting, and support for electrical products from concept/design through production and fielding.

Essential Functions:

  • Able to evaluate architecture, design, and analysis of digital electrical circuits, to achieve the required output parameters per applicable requirements or specifications.
  • Test plan creation for digital electronic circuits and execution of required testing on actual circuits.
  • Providing guidance on troubleshooting ideas/techniques when issues arise on malfunctioning circuits and assisting with or performing the troubleshooting.
  • Document creation such as mod instructions, interface documents, and other engineering documentation.
  • Identification and evaluation of new electrical components and circuits for obsolescence, critical shortages, trouble reports, testing and initial bring-up of prototype hardware, or to enhance the capability of existing and future products.
  • Able to perform circuit simulation, schematic capture, detailed circuit level design verification testing, and configuration management.
  • Willingness to participate with continuous hands-on mentorship and guidance from experienced engineers in the group on digital engineering best practices using theory and hands-on demonstration and testing.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
  • Experience with digital electrical engineering.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Degree in electrical engineering.
  • Experience in system level design, requirements definition, analysis, integration and risk mitigation.
  • Operating a computer and other office equipment including headsets/speakerphones, conference room equipment, printers, and other IT equipment throughout each day.
  • Moving around the office throughout the day, including walking, bending, reaching above shoulder level, and occasionally lifting to up 15 lbs.
  • Professionally interact with internal employees including engineers, managers, operations, and leadership.
  • Strong team player.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with customers.
  • Ability to routinely handle time-sensitive situations.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and technical judgement.
  • Ability to communicate confidently and concisely at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to handle multiple simultaneous projects, tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work in an approved L3Harris lab space to use and operate electrical test and soldering equipment for several hours at a time.
  • Ability to continually learn and perform complicated engineering processes.
  • Provide timely and thorough response to issues that impact continuous production and generation of revenue in the focus factories with problem-solving expertise.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New York state is $79,000- $146,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
