Job Description:
We are seeking a Senior Supervisor, Manufacturing Engineer to lead our Post‑SMT (surface mount technology) processes and support team at the Jefferson Road Operations Center. In this dual technical‑leadership role, you will guide a team responsible for through‑hole assembly, depanelization, soldering processes, and related automated equipment—while also driving process development, continuous improvement, and technical problem‑solving initiatives. This is a highly visible role that partners closely with operations, quality, engineering, and cross-functional groups to ensure our PCBA production lines meet quality, yield, and reliability expectations.
Essential Functions:
- Lead, mentor, and coordinate the Post‑SMT support team to ensure effective daily operations and timely response to production needs
- Develop team capabilities through coaching, training, and sharing best practices
- Establish and maintain standards around staffing, training, and production system expectation
- Create and maintain process documentation and work instructions
- Develop, implement, and optimize Post‑SMT production processes for new and existing products, including tooling, fixturing, and automated equipment programming
- Provide programming and technical support for depanelization and through‑hole assembly equipment
- Partner with operators and supervisors to analyze feedback and identify improvements
- Perform structured root-cause analysis and drive corrective actions to address production issues
- Monitor defective materials, contribute to MRB activities and support change control processes
- Support Equipment maintenance programs and ensure effective, on-time completion of required PMs
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to implement process improvements and support key strategic initiatives
- Evaluate, deploy, and validate new equipment and technologies that enhance production capabilities
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience or graduate degree with 2+ years of experience
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experience with wave soldering and selective soldering equipment
- Ability to program automated equipment and analyze process performance
- Comfortable collaborating across multiple departments and leading improvement initiatives
- Working knowledge of IPC-610 and J-STD-001 workmanship standard
- Lean Six Sigma training (Yellow or Green Belt preferred)
- Hands-on experience in electronics assembly including electro-mechanical assembly processes
- Experience supporting manufacturing equipment and production processes in a high mix environment
- Effective problem-solving skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Strong communication skills and proficiency with MS Office
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New York state is $73,000 - $135,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
