Join L3Harris Communication Systems – Tactical Communications, where your expertise in RF/Analog Electrical Engineering will directly support the mission-critical communication products used by our armed forces. In this role, you’ll work across the entire product lifecycle – from concept and launch to sustaining and modernization – ensuring our solutions perform flawlessly in the field. The successful candidate for this RF/Analog Electrical Engineering position will join a team of dedicated professionals who are responsible for supporting military communication products throughout their lifecycle (from pre-release to obsolescence).

Essential Functions:
- Mitigating component shortages through qualifying alternatives or redesigning circuits and sub-assemblies.
- Determining design, process, and test improvements to increase test yields and product quality.
- Working in cross-functional teams to meet manufacturability, testability and other DFx requirements for volume production.
- Working with design engineering and manufacturing teams to introduce new designs into manufacturing.
- Working as part of the design engineering team to make necessary design changes prior to and during the launch of a new product.
- Working to mitigate component obsolescence throughout the product lifecycle.
- Working with vendors, Quality and Supply Chain to address material discrepancies.
- Troubleshooting unit, modules, and boards to the component level.
- Design and analysis of circuits and components utilizing ADS, MATLAB, and various design and simulation tools.
- Generate and deliver presentations for various levels of management regarding issues, investigations, improvements, or cost savings in a concise manner.
- Quick learner, able to problem solve and be self-motivated.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
- RF experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent.
- Experience with tactical Radio and Power Amplifier HW including troubleshooting to component level.
- Working knowledge of LabVIEW, ADS and Jira.
- Experience with MS Office including advanced spreadsheet manipulation and presentation creation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with all levels of organization & supplier base.
- Hardware troubleshooting ability including analog and RF components and circuits.
- Ability to work independently with general supervision.
- Ability to design and conduct engineering experiments and act upon test results.
- Experienced in leading small technical design or troubleshoot team, providing direction and prioritizing tasks to meet target yields and shipments.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment interfacing with multiple teams across the organization.
- Ability to use typical lab equipment: Oscilloscope, DMM, Spectrum & Network analyzers, and signal generators.
- Able to analyze designs and communicate technical information to support staff.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New York State is $79,000 - $146,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
