Job Description:

 

L3Harris Quality Organization in Rochester, NY is looking for an Inspector to perform Non-Destructive Evaluation (NDE). We are seeking a detail-oriented inspector to support inspections of space flight components and assemblies. This individual will also be responsible for performing tests, analyses and writing inspection reports for complex composite products and integrated systems to ensure quality standards and compliance to customer and regulatory requirements.

 

Essential Functions:

 

• Interpret drawings, specifications, and work instructions to validate inspection criteria
• Document inspection results clearly and accurately
• Implement Continuous Improvement (CI) activities to enhance the quality system
• Perform audits of all applicable products from production and record results
• Responsible for performing functions associated with Quality Audit on all manufacturing products
• Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to communicate quality issues and support root cause investigations
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work environment
• Maintain inspection equipment and ensure calibration status is current
• Ability to obtain U.S. Government security clearance

 

Qualifications:

 

• High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience; Or, 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

 

• Strong attention to detail and ability to perform precise and accurate inspections
• Level 2 certification to NAS-410 standard for Non-Destructive Testing
• Proficient in Ultrasonic Testing techniques and equipment
• Proficient in using mechanical and/or electrical inspection equipment
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication skills and ability to document and report findings clearly
• Experience working in a cleanroom or controlled environment
• Ability to travel for training and/or program support (<10%)

 

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New York state is $49,500-$91,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
