Job Description:
The Manager of project engineering inside of the Test Engineering organization is a vitally important role working alongside the New Product Launch manager and Chief Engineer driving the scope, schedule, and budget for manufacturing test solutions as part of new product introduction. This role oversees a team of project engineers with dotted line responsibility of 40+ electrical and mechanical engineers managing the priority of NPI projects in the test engineering organization.
Essential Functions:
- Partnering with New Product Launch Management to ensure the Yield, CpK, TCI’s, and overall KPP’s from a quality perspective on projects are met or exceeded
- Overseeing test solution development utilizing IRAD and MRAD funding for NPI projects and Government programs by providing inputs into the NPI process and Integrated Project Plans (IPP) as part of Integrated Project Teams.
- Engaging and working closely with functional leads including New Product Launch Management, Chief Engineering, Operations, Quality, Production Planning, Manufacturing Engineering, Hardware Engineering, and Software Engineering
- Providing strategic guidance and recommendations as part of AOP and Capital plans
- Leading the creation, review, and delivery of basis of estimates for new products, programs, and transfer of technology
- Developing and improving templates for project schedules and leadership status report outs
- Developing and executing project plans, schedules, budgets, risks, and risk mitigations to meet product integration timelines
- Manage test engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, and design engineering aid activities to ensure LRIP deliveries meet customer expectations, company schedule, and financial targets.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree with 9 years prior Engineering or Manufacturing Operations experience, Graduate Degree with 7 years prior experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.

- Leadership capability to guide multi-functional teams and manage dependencies in schedules
- Demonstrated experience managing products through design, development, and integration including cost, schedule, and risk management
- Strong analytical, planning, organization, and time management skills to effectively execute project plans and budgets and manage multiple priorities
- Domain knowledge and experience with tactical radio products
- Ability to articulate key message summaries to business leaders
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Colorado State, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Vermont and New York State is $108,500- $201,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
