Job Description:

The successful candidate will join a team of dedicated professionals who are responsible for supporting military communication products from pre-release to obsolescence.   As a member of the Product Support Engineering team you will be tasked with investigating a variety of problems including RF/Analog, digital, assembly, SMT and test related.  You will collaborate across multifunctional teams to diagnose to root cause and implement corrective actions.  As new products are launched you will interface with design engineering, assisting with root cause analysis, troubleshoot prototypes and ensure a successful launch into full rate production.    

Essential Functions:

  • Mitigating component shortages through selecting and qualifying alternates.
  • Determining process and test improvements to increase test yields and product quality.
  • Working in cross-functional teams to meet manufacturability, testability and other DFx requirements for volume production.
  • Working with design engineering and manufacturing teams to introduce new designs into the factory.
  • Working to mitigate component obsolescence throughout the product lifecycle, selecting, simulating, testing, and documenting results.
  • Working with vendors, Quality and Supply Chain to address material discrepancies.
  • Troubleshooting unit, modules, and boards to the component level.
  • Seek out tasks in order to improve overall quality and performance.
  • Generate and deliver reports to various levels of management regarding issues, investigations, improvements or cost savings in a concise manner.
  • Apply hardware troubleshooting skills including analog and RF components and circuits.
  • Design and conduct engineering experiments and act upon test results.
  • Perform work in a fast-paced environment and interface with multiple teams across the organization.
  • Analyze designs and communicate technical information to support staff.
  • Use typical lab equipment: Oscilloscope, DMM, Spectrum & Network analyzers, and signal generators.
  • Adaptable, solutions-oriented, and highly motivated with a strong desire for continuous learning.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Experience with tactical Radio and general RF experience with a focus on transceivers. 
  • Experience troubleshooting to component level.
  • Working knowledge of LabVIEW, ADS and Jira.
  • Experience with MS Office including advanced spreadsheet manipulation and presentation creation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with all levels of organization & supplier base.
  • Ability to work independently with general supervision.  

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New York State is $65,500 - $121,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
