Job Description:
L3Harris Technologies is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Systems Engineer to become a part of our Advanced Customer Engineering Services (ACES) team. The ideal candidate will represent L3Harris’ cutting-edge networking and radio products to our customers in the field, while effectively conveying technical solutions to our Product Engineering, Product Management, and Sales teams.
In this role, you will leverage your strong communication and interpersonal skills to support our business goals while applying your broad knowledge of networking principles and technical skillsets to meet our customers' requirements. Your expertise in the radio/wireless domain and understanding of communications protocol architectures and applications will be crucial for performing hardware and software system integration of wired and wireless network systems.
As a Systems Engineer Specialist, you will be expected to perform system integration and evaluation in support of Sales, Engineering, and Product Management in the field, ensuring our customers receive top-tier support and solutions.
Essential Functions:
- Serve as a liaison between our customers and L3Harris, communicating pertinent information to and from customers with Sales, Engineering, Product Management, and Program Management.
- Provide strong customer consultancy, offering guidance and training to customer personnel in system design, mission development, operation, application integration, configuration, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Collaborate closely with the Core Networking team in Rochester and other engineering teams to apply networking knowledge and incorporate radios into larger tactical solutions.
- Troubleshoot networking issues at all layers, utilizing tools to analyze network connectivity and traffic flow.
- Demonstrate strong debugging and problem-solving skills with network systems, working with hardware and software designers to bring up new features and resolve hardware/software integration issues.
- Be resourceful and willing to be travel for multiple weeks at a time in support of our customers.
- Travel requirement: 35% or more.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience in systems engineering.
- Active US Secret Security Clearance
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experience in face-to-face customer interactions.
- Prior military experience or having worked in a military environment.
- CISCO CCNA Certification or higher.
- Knowledge of RF propagation, cosite location, and RF analysis tools.
- Familiarity with Linux-based operating systems
- Familiarity with Python, C#.NET, XML, HTML/CSS/JS
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, high-stakes environment
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New York State is $79,000 - $146,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
