Job Description:
We are looking for a detail oriented, customer focused, and high performing quality manager to join our growing team. Responsible for ensuring product and process compliance to procedures, specifications and applicable regulatory requirements. Performs analysis on reported nonconformities and discrepancies related to assembly, process, mechanical, electrical/software, electro-mechanical systems and field data. Works with cross-functional teams including quality, manufacturing, engineering, customer and supplier representatives to ensure product and process quality requirements are met and to improve processes. Facilitates root cause investigation and corrective action execution to address product and process non-conformances and compliance gaps. Drives early cross functional engagement initiatives to ensure quality is built into the design and processes. Leads, directs and reviews the work of a quality team.
Essential Functions:
- Leads and executes quality engineering activities for a designated Focus Factory in order to meet business and quality objectives
- Assures Focus Factory compliance to L3Harris procedures, specifications and ISO standards.
- Enforces the use of data and understanding of risks to drive decisions to protect the customer
- Performs data analysis including production yield, process and test capability.
- Drives team to develop and execute meaningful actions to improve performance.
- Uses data to drive mistake-proofing and focuses on quality at the source.
- Leads cross-functional teams utilizing formal root cause tools to investigate and solve internal/ customer quality problems by identifying the root cause and implementing corrective actions (CAPA).
- Ensures change control discipline including documentation, verification and validation.
- Uses the L3Harris e3 (excellence, everywhere, everyday) continuous improvement process to drive proactive process improvements to improve quality and reduce waste
- Supervises a small quality team, which includes planning and establishing goals and objectives, managing daily tasks and employee development planning.
- Leads and mentors other QE’s to benchmark best practices across focus factories and promotes the systemic approach on a quality mindset shift.
- Acts as a liaison with the engineering team to ensure new product launches are set for success when handout to focus factories.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant quality experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related quality experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related quality experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Strong knowledge of ISO9001 standard
- Experience with Lean Six sigma, with proven record of project savings.
- Experience using statistical SW (Minitab, SIMCA, JMP, etc) preferred
- Ability to focus, prioritize, multi-task and delegate
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)
