Job Description:
As a Project Engineer at Wescam-USA you will be responsible for successful product launch and new product development by project managing multi-disciplinary team - providing leadership and technical/project guidance for IRAD funded, customer funded NRE and or non-standard product configurations for EOIR sensors for challenging mission requirements.
Essential Functions:
- As a Project Engineer at Wescam-USA you will be responsible for successful product launch and new product development by project managing the Operations activities across a multi-disciplinary team consisting of Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers, Planners, Buyers, Production Staff, Quality, EH&S and Facilities
- Partner with engineering and program management to manage and understand contractual flow down requirements (internal and external)
- Prepare design stage gate review package and prepare cross-functional team aligned to internal requirements.
- Responsible for presenting to various levels of cross-functional leadership in design reviews and various business meetings
- Develop operations risk registry and associated mitigation strategies/plans driving closure of actions
- Responsible for providing project estimations, ETCs and adherence for Earn Value Management reporting in JIRA
- Maintain project schedule(s) and overall build schedule to meet integrated master schedule milestones and or customer contract deliverable
- Responsible for defining, project managing and tracking adherence to product targets (hours per unit, material cost, lead time, yield) by organizing, leading and or facilitating DFx toolsets
- Participate in the bid and proposal process by providing operations inputs, risks and CapEx requirements
- Lead/Participate in project scrum(s), daily production cell team meeting(s), etc.
- Understanding cause and effect of changes affecting program schedule, quality and cost
- Coach junior team members on project management/manufacturing best practices, methodologies and lessons learned
- Compliance with the company’s Quality Management System
- Demonstrate through project leadership behaviors of integrity, respect and excellence
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Minimum 7 years of experience in a project management capacity managing several complex projects concurrently
- Minimum of 2 years experience in one or more of the following
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office including MS Project
- Knowledge of MRP system(s)
- Knowledge/experience of Confluence/JIRA
- Knowledge of operations and manufacturing environments Eligible for a US government security clearance
- Experience presenting to executive and or senior leadership
- Well-rounded project management background with experience in a high tech environment
- Intimate knowledge of current and advanced Manufacturing processes and technologies
- PMP Certification is an asset
- Professional Engineering license is an asset
- Strong technical communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent organizational and planning/project management skills
- Ability to lead the closure of technical issues
- Dynamic, resourceful and takes initiative (sense of urgency, innovative, problem solver)
- Ability to challenge the status quo and develop innovative solutions to achieve operational efficiencies
- Data driven decision making approach
- Excellent functional skills of Project Management tools
- Knowledge of AS9100 Quality Standard
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C, Denver, or NYC areas is $127,500 MIN - $236,500 MAX. The salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, Cleveland Ohio, and Vermont is $110,500 MIN - $205,500 MAX. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
