Job Description:

L3Harris’ Communication Systems segment is currently seeking a Sr. Specialist, Software Engineer to join our team. This position will be based at our Rochester, NY or Clifton, NY facility and offers a 9/80 work schedule.

Software Engineer needed to work in a team to design and develop modern, customer-focused User Interfaces to support military radio networks.

Essential Functions:

• Software development including high level/detailed design, software development, and unit testing of high-performance, responsive, scalable front-end applications
• Active collaboration with other engineers in the following activities: UX/UI design, software design, software development, and software testing
• Work both independently and within a highly collaborative, distributed team
• Execution of projects using CMMI-3 process guidelines to develop robust solutions meeting schedule commitments
• Ability to Obtain a US Security Clearance

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience in Front End Software Engineering.

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Proficiency developing with modern JavaScript, using ES6+
• 5+ years’ software engineering experience in front-end UI design and development
• Proficiency developing single page applications using React and Angular
• Experience with Functional Programming
• Ability to build UI components from concept designs and wireframes
• Solid understanding of synchronous and asynchronous server communication
• Strong communication skills and ability to effectively interact with peers
• Experience and competency in formal software design, using standard tools and approaches
• Experience working in a process-oriented development environment
• Experience working with a variety of software technologies, and ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies
• Familiarity with C# and/or Java

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New York State is $93,500 - $173,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
