Job Description:

 

The qualified candidate will contribute to the company’s success by qualifying L3Harris products to applicable military standards. This role will report directly to the Senior Manager of the Reliability and Environmental Engineering Services team and is responsible for successfully conducting reliability and MIL-STD-810 qualification tests.

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Analyze and interpret MIL-STD-810 Methods and Procedures with ability to apply interpreted knowledge gained to L3Harris product testing.
  • Facilitate/conduct Environmental & Reliability Engineering testing.
  • Lead projects and prepare formal test documentation (project estimates, statements of work, project schedules, test plans, procedures, and reports).
  • Perform in-house product qualification tests/ coordinate performance of (and participate in) off-site tests at third-party test labs.
  • Provide regular communication (interim status, noteworthy events, decision points, etc.) to relevant parties on a timely basis.
  • Provide technical guidance to early-career engineers

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant reliability testing experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related reliability testing experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related reliability testing experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

 

  • Experience in performance testing of Radio Frequency communications gear.
  • Experience in programming and operating environmental climatics chamber controllers (i.e. Thermotron, Russells, Watlow).         
  • Experience operating vibration tables.
  • Experience with LabVIEW programming.
  • Proficiency with Object-Oriented Programming and Design.
  • Certification as a Reliability Engineer (CRE).
  • Experience/proficiency with the following test equipment: Audio/Network/Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators, Frequency Counters, and RF Power Meters.
  • Experience/proficiency with: MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, Teams, and Visio.
  • Clear, effective, interpersonal communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Team-oriented and able to work successfully with others to efficiently use shared resources and accomplish team objectives.
  • Proficient at technical writing.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Colorado State, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Vermont and New York State is $90,500 - $168,500.  This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
