Job Description:

The Assembly Integration and Test Focus Factory of L3 Harris Space and Airborne Systems is looking for an experienced manufacturing technician to join the precision structures fabrication team. Seeking candidate with composite material background and the ability to work within tight tolerance specifications. The scope is focused on the timely execution of assigned tasks with a quality mindset. Will work as individual contributor and in a team environment, fabricating, building, handling, repairing, and integrating complex, one of a kind composite parts and assemblies in a low volume setting. This role involves working directly with engineers on the design, development, and fabrication of new and existing products.

Essential Functions:

• Perform work in manufacturing and/or prototyping environment
• Read engineering drawings/blueprints/schematics and detailed work instructions
• Maintain accurate records and manufacturing documentation
• Work with very fragile and precise assemblies
• Assist with identifying problems and suggest solutions
• Adhere to established policies, procedures, and proper labor charging practices
• Work with a variety of hand tools and specialized equipment
• Ability to work overtime, shift work, weekends, holidays and some travel

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience; Or, 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience
• Experience with measuring tools such as verniers, calipers, scales, etc.
• Ability to obtain US government security clearance

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Aerospace or Defense industry experience
• Experience with Laser Tracker or CMM measurement tools
• Experience with shop equipment including but not limited to Mills, Lathes, Grinders, and red precision measuring equipment
• MIG/TIG welding experience
• Lean Manufacturing practices

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New York state is $44,000-$81,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
