Job Description:

 

This is a hardware engineering technician position responsible for assisting in the design, construction, test, and check-out of test equipment. Construct, troubleshoot, adjust, test, diagnose, and maintain equipment, components, devices, or systems. Work from schematics, engineering drawings, and written or verbal instructions. Design, build, and integrate Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) used in missions spanning across the domains our SAS segment designs mission deliverable hardware.

 

Essential Functions:

 

• Operate related equipment as well as conduct tests and report data in prescribed format
• May work with complex machines or computer systems
• Collaborate with EGSE Design team on the build and integration of new systems
• Complete lab maintenance logs to maintain work area requirements
• Perform maintenance functions on existing EGSE platforms
• Assist the production team with general EGSE inquiries
• Perform initial troubleshoot on failed EGSE systems
• Support NRTL inspections of EGSE systems
• Organize improvement initiatives to lab spaces
• Coordinate use of lab spaces with group lead
• Ability to obtain US Government security clearance

 

Qualifications:

 

• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience; Or, 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

 

• 6+ years of relevant engineering work experience
• General knowledge of electronics (power requirements of COTS components; AC circuit loading)
• General knowledge of mechanical tooling used in the construction of test racks
• Cable build experience per IPC-620A standard along with familiarity with commercial of the shelf test equipment
• Familiarity with cable dressing and test rack sub assembly construction. 
• IPC 620-A Certification
• Ability to work with E-CAD tools and Microsoft tools including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio

 

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New York state is $54,500-$101,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
