Job Description:

The Airborne Focus Factory of L3Harris Space and Airborne Systems located in Rochester, New York, is looking for an experienced, motivated, and detail-oriented Engineering Technician to join the assembly and integration team.

Individuals should be familiar with various precision manufacturing techniques used to fabricate, integrate and validate optics. Additional activities may include performing optical testing such as MTF, EFL, Distortion and Concentricity. Members work in engineering drawings, manufacturing instructions, procedures, process specifications, schematics, sketches or verbal instructions.

Essential Functions:

• Willingness to work overtime, shift work, weekends, holidays and some travel.
• Applicants must be U.S. citizens and be willing to submit to a background investigation, as a government security clearance might be required for this position.
• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent with 0 to 3 years of prior related experience.
• Experience in manufacturing and/or prototyping environment.
• Must be able to read engineering drawings/blue prints/schematics and detailed work instructions.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and manufacturing documentation.
• Speaks clearly and concisely, presenting ideas effectively to individuals or groups.
• Ability to identify problems and suggest solutions.
• Demonstrates appropriate computer knowledge.
• Understands and adheres to established policies, procedures and proper labor charging practices.
• Must be able to perform as an individual contributor as well as within a team environment.
• Must be mechanically inclined and detailed oriented.

Qualifications:

• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 0-3 years of prior relevant experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Experience in an Electrical/Mechanical/Optical discipline.
• Able to be certified to IPC JSTD or comparable NASA certifications.
• Lean Manufacturing practices.
• Aerospace or Defense industry experience.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New York state is $38,000 - $70,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
