Job Description:

The Director/Chief Engineer of Tactical Radio Networking provides strategic and operational leadership for a team that develops tactical radio networking solutions encompassing multiple network and infrastructure disciplines to achieve business goals and objectives in the design, deployment, support, optimization, and advancement of industry-leading network technologies, systems, and services. This role leverages deep expertise in networking, infrastructure architecture, and emerging technologies, combined with strong business acumen and leadership instincts, to ensure network solutions are developed, configured, secured, and enhanced as needed to establish and maintain a competitive edge in technical performance, reliability, scalability, security, and time-to-market. The Director/Chief Engineer of Tactical Radio Networking collaborates closely with Waveform and Platform Chief Engineers, Senior Leadership, Operations, Program Management, Production, and Sales to develop technology roadmaps, resolve complex issues, support organizational growth, and promote the company’s network capabilities and service offerings. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

 

Essential Functions:

  • Leads all aspects of Tactical Radio network technology developments, initiatives, systems, and infrastructure programs from concept and architecture through deployment, operations, lifecycle management
  • Directs and influences cross-functional teams to meet customer, operational, security, and business requirements.
  • Develops, presents, and delivers comprehensive updates and technical presentations to project teams, executive leadership, and customer stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
  • Guides the design, implementation, optimization, and evaluation of network technologies from strategic planning through production, deployment, and release.
  • Serves as the central leadership resource for network architecture, operations, implementation, testing, cybersecurity, quality, and business alignment.
  • Plans and manages schedules, budgets, and collaborates on resource allocation for network technology developments and initiatives.
  • Monitors projects and programs from initiation through completion and customer acceptance, where applicable.
  • Ensures solutions, services, and infrastructure that are delivered meet customer requirements, performance expectations, and technical specifications.
  • Develops, manages, and maintains all aspects of project and program level risk, including mitigation strategies, cost impacts, and contingency planning.
  • Develops statements of work for subcontractors, vendors, and service providers, and ensures successful performance against deliverables.
  • Estimates resource, staffing, hardware, software, and material needs for network projects and technology programs.
  • Drives technology technical content, solution write-ups, and cost estimates in support of proposals, requests for proposal (RFPs), requests for information (RFIs), and white papers.
  • Ability to obtain US Security Clearance

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering fields with a minimum of 15 years of project engineering or related experience or Graduate Degree in Computer Science or Engineering fields with a minimum of 13 years of project engineering or related experience with a technical background on engineering focused developments and leadership. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 19 years of project engineering or related experience with a technical background on engineering focused developments and leadership

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Ability to lead and drive a team providing technical leadership, mentorship, guidance, and direction to execute project initiatives to the targeted scope, budget, and schedule
  • Experience in managing and/or Integrating with cross-functional / cross-discipline teams
  • Experience working proposals
  • Experience supporting government customers
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in a technical information environment
  • Ability to clearly articulate direction, status, issues, risks, and opportunities, to team, peers, leadership, business counterparts and customers
  • Secret security clearance desired

 

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New York state is $168,500 to $313,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
