Job Description:
In this position, you will be responsible for developing, implementing and measuring communications that reflect the vision and strategic direction of the Aerojet Rocketdyne business segment. The scope includes both internal and external communications leveraging a variety of channels to reach key audiences, ensuring consistent messaging and brand alignment across all platforms and stakeholders.
The role requires exceptional writing abilities and the capacity to translate complex concepts into clear, engaging content.
Essential Functions:
- Assist leadership in developing and executing strategic plans and initiatives.
- Provide high-level support to executive leadership, including attending meetings, taking notes, and following up on action items.
- Prepare briefing materials, reports, and presentations for executive meetings.
- Lead and manage cross-functional projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and timelines.
- Monitor the progress of strategic projects and initiatives to ensure timely completion.
- Analyze communication metrics and prepare regular status reports and presentations for executive review to evaluate the effectiveness of communication strategies.
- Recommend and implement improvements to enhance communication effectiveness and executive support efficiency.
- Monitor budget expenses and provide regular updates to executive leadership.
- Create thoughtful, innovative, and engaging communications content to reach a variety of internal and external audiences.
- Conduct comprehensive research for the segment’s communications programs.
- Review and edit written content for accuracy, clarity, and consistency in tone and style.
- Manage multiple writing projects under tight deadlines, adapting to changing priorities as needed.
- Collaborate with various teams, including marketing, public relations, and subject matter experts, to gather information and insights.
- Work with PR and social media leads to plan and execute campaigns, ensuring timely content delivery and alignment with strategic objectives.
- Contribute to corporate publications, newsletters, and internal blogs.
- Support the creation of communications reports to measure content reach, engagement, and ROI.
- Track content performance across channels (web, social, advertising, events) and incorporate learnings into future campaigns.
- Some travel may be required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant diverse Communications experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with attention to detail and audience awareness.
- Knowledge of AP Style.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Skilled in effective scheduling and prioritizing work flow.
- Flexible enough to fill in where required on demand
- May have practical knowledge of project management.
- Experience in collaborating with cross function teams.
- Experience managing editorial calendars, press release workflows, and campaign reporting.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the confidence to liaise at all levels.
- Highly organized, deadline-driven, and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Experience in writing for executives, storytelling, and drafting news releases.
- Experience developing PowerPoint briefings.
- Experience analyzing and reporting metrics.
- Ability to develop and implement communications strategies.
- Experience in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C, Denver, or NYC areas is $71,500 - $132,000. The salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, and Vermont is $62,000 - $115,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
