Job Description:
The Sr Manager, Executive and Internal Communications will be responsible for developing and implementing corporate communication strategies that support the Missile Solutions Segment and for supervising a member of the team. This role involves both internal and external communications, ensuring consistent messaging and brand alignment across all platforms and stakeholders.
Essential Functions:
- Create and review content to support executive speeches, blog posts, presentations and memos to employees
- Draft speeches, read ahead packages, talking points and other communications materials for the segment and sector presidents.
- Work closely with senior leaders and key stakeholders to ensure that segment internal communication is clear, consistent, and aligned with the company’s goals and values
- Lead the implementation of the internal communications strategy for the organization, including key messaging, communication channels, and tactics
- Create and deliver internal communications content, including memos, email updates, newsletters, intranet content, videos, and presentations
- Monitor and measure the effectiveness of internal communications, and make recommendations for improvement based on feedback and data analysis
- Develop and maintain a coordinated content calendar to ensure that internal communications are timely and relevant, and aligned with external communications about the sectors
- Identify opportunities to support HR employee engagement efforts and help foster a positive company culture
- Manage segment intranet home page, posting news for employees
- Manage crisis communications, ensuring all employees are informed and up-to-date
- Manage and maintain the company’s internal communication tools, ensuring they are up-to-date, user-friendly, and aligned with the company’s goals and values
- Execute comprehensive strategic communication plans that engage employees, customers, partners, the media and other key stakeholders.
- Write, edit, and distribute content, including senior leader announcements, employee newsletters, press releases, talking points for executives, social media posts and presentations.
- Organize and manage internal and (and when needed, support external) events such as internal town halls, webinars, press conferences, panels, media interviews, and special ceremonies (delivery milestones, facility openings, etc).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a unified approach to messaging and branding.
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitive activities, and regulatory changes that may impact the communications strategy.
- Some travel as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 12 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experience with digital communications tools.
- Experience in writing for executives, storytelling, and drafting news releases.
- Experience developing PowerPoint briefings.
- Experience analyzing and reporting metrics.
- Ability to develop and implement communications strategies.
- Knowledge of AP Style
- Experience in working with journalists, providing media training to principals.
- Experience in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Demonstrated ability to work well with others and communicate effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Interpersonal skills are necessary to effectively interface with all levels of personnel, both within the Communications Department and throughout the company.
- Skilled in effective scheduling and prioritizing work flow.
- Must be flexible enough to fill in where required on demand.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C, Denver, or NYC areas is $126,000 - $234,000. The salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, Cleveland Ohio, and Vermont is $109,500 - $203,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
