Job Description:
The Aerojet Rocketdyne Segment of L3Harris is seeking a Systems Engineer to join our team in Redmond, Washington. In this role, you will use your experience to provide systems engineering support for chemical and solar electric space propulsion products supporting commercial space and defense customers. Responsibilities include assisting team leaders in developing and managing new or existing requirements, evaluating relevant industry and government specifications, performing derivation activities, interface management, documentation of risks and opportunities, and verification planning. Systems engineering assignments will require application of systems engineering principles, theories and concepts in the field. May provide guidance to less experienced engineers on team. Model Based Engineering (MBE)/Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) experience is a plus.
Essential Functions:

60% - Assists with the development of requirements for space propulsion products and systems. Responsible for derivation, allocation, and documentation of requirements in an appropriate requirements database. Candidate will derive, allocate, and document requirements in a requirements database (DOORS Next). Candidate will be responsible for the development and maintenance of system, subsystem, and component specifications. Candidate will coordinate requirements and related specification change management with integrated product team members. Defines and coordinates requirements verification plans with integrated product team members, plans and manages compliance assessment and certification.

15% - Performs functional analysis and coordinates system trade studies using Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) or other methodologies. Coordinates selection of optimized concept baselines through benefit/cost trades in support of definition of system architecture and objectives.

15% - Performs project risk assessment and management and develops mitigation plans.

10% - Communicates results in oral presentations and written communication.

Up to 5% business travel.

Ability to obtain U.S. Security Clearance.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant systems engineering experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 0-2 years of prior related systems engineering experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior systems engineering experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
-
Coursework in Systems Engineering (requirements management, risk management, product development cycle) disciplines and rocket propulsion strongly desired.

Experience with DOORS, DOORS Next, or Jazz Team Server preferred.

Cameo (or equivalent) SysML experience preferred.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C, Denver, or NYC areas is $79,000.00-$146,500.00. The salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, and Vermont is $69,000.00-$128,000.00. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
