Aerojet Rocketdyne is seeking an Reliability and System Safety Engineer to join our Redmond, WA office. This position will entail reliability and system safety work related to a diverse product line of In-Space chemical and electrical propulsion.
Essential Functions:
Working under limited general supervision, perform Reliability & System Safety assignments requiring working knowledge of application of concepts, practices, and techniques following established policies, procedures, and best practices. This also requires a detailed understanding of the hardware and its functions. Job responsibilities include:
- Develop reliability and safety models/analyses for various systems and communicate results to company engineers and managers. This includes FMECAs (Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analyses), reliability predictions, subsystem hazard analyses, and range safety assessments.
- Provide design input to improve product reliability and/or safety when necessary; Interacting with a wide variety of individuals and teams to communicate results.
- Design reliability test plans to qualify new product and processes, evaluate test anomalies, and ensure consistent adherence to high quality standards by application of reliability techniques.
- Perform Probabilistic Risk Assessments.
- Lead fault tree assessments related to product anomalies.
- Ability to obtain US Secret Security Clearance.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and a minimum of 6 years of directly related technical experience in engineering disciplines. Graduate degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Reliability Engineering coursework or experience.
- Liquid rocket engine knowledge and experience.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Self-starters and have the ability to work independently as well as with a team.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Washington is $104,500 - $193,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
