Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Manufacturing Engineer with a strong background in mechanical assembly, metal joining and machining. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes to ensure the highest quality and efficiency in production. This position requires a proactive and hands-on approach, working collaboratively with teammates and suppliers to address and resolve issues, drive continuous improvements, and uphold our stringent quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise and a high level of self-motivation.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and requirements to translate to process planning that produces conforming hardware.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, quality, and production, to ensure successful program execution.
  • Travel to suppliers to perform training, solve production issues and ensure hardware quality. Travel up to 20%.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, including work instructions, process instructions, manufacturing bills of materials and routings.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of best practices.
  • Lead and mentor junior engineers and technicians, providing technical guidance and support.
  • Provide Design for manufacturability and assembly feedback
  • Design and implement process improvements to enhance productivity, quality, and cost-efficiency.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering preferred
  • Hands-on experience in furnace and/or induction brazing of aerospace components.
  • Experience with manufacturing and assembly of space hardware.
  • Experience working within ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP.
  • Experience working within PLM software to manage parts, assemblies and documentation.
  • Knowledge of furnace and/or induction brazing techniques, materials, and equipment.
  • Proficiency in machining, GD&T and assembly processes.
  • Experience with process optimization, lean manufacturing, and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex manufacturing issues.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

 

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in the State of Washington is $94,000- $175,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
