Job Description:
L3Harris is actively seeking an Engineering Technician specializing in Quality Assurance. This position will be responsible for performing Quality Management related tasks as required in support of engineering, testing, and production for the program. Primary responsibility will be to ensure compliance with DCMA INST 8210, CNAF 4790 series, PWS, and GOPs. They will also provide technical assistance and guidance during aircrew de-briefs and perform towing, marshalling, and positioning of aircraft on flight line.
Essential Functions:
- Quality Control experience with: P-8, 737, or other relevant aircraft.
- Working knowledge of Navy QAR functions, ASM, CSEC and monitoring programs.
- Read, interpret and work from engineering drawings, blueprints, T.O specs, and engineering specifications.
- Assemble close tolerance parts and use common hand tools.
- Certified to operate self-propelled vehicles such as forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, aircraft support equipment and towing vehicles.
- Climb, including ladders, stairs, and portable stands and navigate these without assistance.
- Work in the following environmental conditions: noise, proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, chemicals, odor, and dust.
- Functional knowledge of MS Office tools, including Word, Excel, Project and PowerPoint.
- NALCOMIS Optimized Organizational Maintenance Activity (OOMA) and Advanced System Management (ASM) systems experience.
- Effective communicator and strong motivational skills.
- Creative problem-solving capabilities.
- Must be willing to work any shift (7 days a week) and overtime (up to 20%) as business requires.
- Able to lift heavy objects, up to 50 lbs.
- Travel up to 25% of the time both international and domestic.
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent with eight (8) years of prior Navy Quality Assurance experience.
- 2 years post-Secondary/associate’s degree with four (4) years of prior Navy Quality Assurance experience.
- Active Secret DoD Clearance at the time of hire.
- Must be a US Citizen.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Working knowledge of Periodic Maintenance Information Cards/Maintenance Requirement Cards.
- Experience in managing/monitoring Navy programs IAW 8210 and 4790.
