Job Description:

 

L3Harris is actively seeking an Aircraft Maintenance D (Aviation Support Equipemtn Tech) that will be responsible for performing major and minor scheduled and unscheduled maintenance IAW military T.O.s, commercial maintenance manuals, and service bulletins of aircraft support equipment. They will also provide technical assistance and guidance during aircrew de-briefs and perform towing, marshalling, and positioning of aircraft on flight line. Perform other related tasks as required in support of engineering, testing, and production for the program. 

 

Essential Functions:

  • Having Support Equipment experience with Periodic Maintenance and troubleshooting. 
  • Being able to read, interpret and work from engineering drawings, blueprints, T.O specs, and engineering specifications.
  • Able to assemble close tolerance parts and use common hand tools.
  • Able to be certified to operate self-propelled vehicles such as forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, aircraft support equipment and towing vehicles
  • Able to climb, including ladders, stairs, and portable stands and navigate these without assistance. 
  • Able to work in the following environmental conditions: noise, proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, chemicals, odor, and dust. 
  • Effective Communicator and possess strong motivational skills.
  • Creative problem-solving capabilities.
  • Willing and able to work any shift (7 days a week) and overtime (20% OT) as business requires.
  • Able to lift heavy objects up to 50lbs.
  • Travel up to 25% both international and domestic.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

 

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent with eight (8) years of prior with NALCOMIS Optimized Organizational Maintenance Activity (OOMA) and Advanced System Management (ASM) systems experience.
  • 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with four (4) years of prior with NALCOMIS Optimized Organizational Maintenance Activity (OOMA) and Advanced System Management (ASM) systems experience.
  • Active Secret Clearance at the time of hire.
  • Must successfully pass a Flightline physical.
  • Must be a US Citizen.

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Working knowledge of Periodic Maintenance Information Cards/Maintenance Requirement Cards. 
  • Experience in SE PMS, Tool Control, METCAL, IMRL, HAZMAT and any other related US Navy Support Equipment programs.
