Job Description:
L3Harris is actively seeking an Aircraft Maintenance D that specializes in Structural Mechanic and Safety Equipment. This position will be responsible for performing major and minor scheduled and unscheduled maintenance IAW military T.O.s, commercial maintenance manuals, and service bulletins of aircraft oxygen and avionics cooling systems and subsystems. They will also provide technical assistance and guidance during aircrew de-briefs and perform towing, marshalling, and positioning of aircraft on flight line. Perform other related tasks as required in support of engineering, testing, and production for the program.
Essential Functions:
- O2, pressurization and environmental experience with: P-8, 737, or other relevant aircraft.
- Read, interpret and work from engineering drawings, blueprints, T.O specs, and engineering specifications.
- Assemble close tolerance parts and use common hand tools.
- Certified to operate self-propelled vehicles such as forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, aircraft support equipment and towing vehicles
- Climb, including ladders, stairs, and portable stands and navigate these without assistance.
- Work in the following environmental conditions: noise, proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, chemicals, odor, and dust.
- NALCOMIS Optimized Organizational Maintenance Activity (OOMA) and Advanced System Management (ASM) systems experience.
- Effective communicator and strong motivational skills.
- Creative problem-solving capabilities.
- Must be willing to work any shift (7 days a week) and overtime (up to 20%) as business requires.
- Able to lift heavy objects, up to 50 lbs.
- Travel up to 25% of the time both international and domestic.
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
- High School Diploma or equivalent with eight (8) years of prior experience managing Egress, NOMP/AWCAP, AAS, ABO and any other related US Navy Aviation Environmental programs.
- 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with four (4) years of prior experience managing Egress, NOMP/AWCAP, AAS, ABO and any other related US Navy Aviation Environmental programs.
- Active Secret DoD Clearance at the time of hire.
- Must be able to successfully pass a Flightline Physical.
- Must be a US Citizen.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Working knowledge of Periodic Maintenance Information Cards/Maintenance Requirement Cards.
- APU and/or Ground turn qualified.
