Job Description:

The Quality Engineer assures reliable product is being delivered to our customers on time and meets or exceeds expectations and specifications. Successful candidates will have a working knowledge of Quality Assurance practices and principles, have a general understanding of the requirements of AS9100 Rev D, and have ability to support other assigned tasks such as audits, manufacturing process reviews, failure trend analysis, etc. They will also be skilled communicators, have the ability to make sound decisions based on facts, and work with teams to identify and implement continuous improvements to processes and products. 

 

Essential Functions:

  • Interface with manufacturing, engineering, customer, and vendor representatives regarding product quality and requirements. 
  • Develop and implement program quality plans and procedures as needed.
  • Conduct contract review and flow down requirements to the supply chain and other functional groups. 
  • Analyze quality data for trends, investigate issues and develop corrective/preventive actions accordingly.
  • Support the material review board (MRB) and provide dispositions accordingly for nonconforming products, including communicating with customers for approvals as required. 
  • Review and approve engineering specifications such as ATPs, drawings, manufacturing work instructions, and ensure adequacy, quality, and compliance to specification and contractual requirements.
  • Perform internal process audits, compile reports and recommend any needed remedial actions. Similarly support external/customer audits.
  • Support Inspection and Test, validating product

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • 2+ years Aerospace/Defense Industry experience 
  • Review and interpret drawings
  • Knowledge and experience in new development work
  • Review and approve first article inspection (FAI) reports in accordance with AS9102 requirements.
